Brake caliper brackets, front strut housings, and rear subframe mounting points are specific to this platform. No U502 suspension part carries over to the U625.

The U625 (2020–on) rides on Ford's CD6 rear-wheel-drive-based platform, shared with the Aviator. The architectural change reversed the powertrain layout: the engine sits longitudinally, and rear-wheel drive is now standard. AWD Explorer builds on U625 use a more traditional rear differential and transfer case, replacing the U502 power transfer unit entirely. Front suspension geometry changed from MacPherson strut to a double-wishbone setup on some trim levels. Caliper sizing, rotor dimensions, and knuckle geometry are all unique to U625.

For UAE-market Explorer builds, GCC-spec trim lines do not always match US production in rotor sizing and brake pad compound specs.
